Constraints
The truss we made could only be made from a 36 inch piece of balsa wood and had to be statically determinate and fit on the testing machine we used for the other trusses.
Brainstorming
We came up with a few different designs, all of which were statically determinate.
Decision Matrix
Using the decision matrix we decided to use the truss shaped like a parallelogram.
Final Sketch & Truss Calculations
This is the final version of our truss, due to the over abundance of reaction forces, we were unable to calculate most of the forces on each member.
Efficiency
Using the formula Eff.= F/W, I found the efficiency to be 865.6 where the force that it sustained was only 21.23N and the weight was .02452N
